Words for my fellow human beings

Earth within a heart

Today, I’m using my pen as a weapon to free my voice. I'm writing with a concerned heart and a mind full of thoughts. As my family and I watch the news these past few weeks, I could not help but pay attention to the world whispering a tale of its own downfall. I felt the need to reach out to those who deeply care about restoring humanity. Perhaps you, the reader, included.

To make it clear, I have never been one to dive into the philosophy of politics or war, and I don't intend to. I think you don't need to be an expert on these to notice that the very essence of our existence is trembling. For centuries upon centuries, we have been dealing with the same things over and over- our rights, equality, freedom, stable environment, ending corruption, etc... They made us believe that we are progressing (It reminds me of 1984 by George Orwell). Yet, it seems as if we're being stuck or in regression. These past four years, we have been given explicit signs to wake up. The world is no longer weeping silently, it is crying for help. I know they say I’m young and should enjoy life, but I am not here to sugarcoat the bitterness of reality; I watch children being caged; households being invaded by military forces; a student being murdered at school; an innocent man walking on the street being violently grabbed by the police; humiliation by some political “leaders”; the planet boiling; humans identifying themselves as anything but humans. How could I just sit back and watch?

Through another lens, I think we are missing the main battleground —the core of our being; Our inner ego; our selfishness; our pride; the evil force trying to take hold of our individual selves, forming a collective force of destruction. It's hard to understand, but that's among the ways I can explain what's behind human nature's need to have power —the desire to always be in control above others. But then again, who am I to justify human nature when I'm just a child who is still discovering life?

In the midst of this chaos, I am reminded of a profound truth that goes beyond our human side: the intention behind our creation. We are designed by a loving God, who intended for us to embody His divine love. He came as a Man to illustrate unselfish and unconditional love. But as time passed by, we strayed from this essence, turning God into culture, religion, and an idea rather than the Creator who guides us. In His patience, He has repeatedly warned us of the consequences to this drift. He is now urging us to return to our roots, confront our egos, and re-embrace the command to love; to be His ally.

Do you think we can leave something good that could endure beyond the final chapters of our history? I do. I find comfort in the thought that, even if our future is very blurry, we still have the choice to infuse our words with kindness, our actions with love, and our thoughts with hope. Perhaps, some of us could be remembered by these things.

So, dear friend, with hope in my heart, I want to share these words with you, words I hope will resonate through whatever time we have left. Yes, our world is far from perfect, and humanity often stumbles, but I still believe in change and the beauty of the human spirit. Thank you for being among those beacons of hope, always there to listen to the unheard. Remember that your voice and actions matter too.

Sending you all so much love.

“No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.” -Nelson Mandela
