Miss Janet, manager of the W. H. Stanton Library in Social Circle, recently presented a program on the library and the proposed library expansion project to members of the John Clarke Chapter, NSDAR. Information was shared about the early years of the library in Social Circle and about how the Uncle Remus Library System continues to provide programs, exhibits, technology and other resources to increase the numbers of library users and meet the informational needs of the local community. Plans for continued development include many state of the art features for library patrons. Members of the John Clarke Chapter donated children’s books (How to Bake an American Pie and We The Kids) and a reference book on the Battle of Kettle Creek to the library.
