In honor of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the John Clarke Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), chapter members raised funds as well as solicited donations from the Social Circle community for the DAR Flagpole Project. The American Legion Post 332 in Social Circle graciously donated the flagpole. The Flagpole Project will also include a paved foundation at the base of the flag pole as well as additional improvements upon completion, according to John Clarke Chapter Regent Mary Lynne Reinagel.
Representatives of the John Clarke Chapter, the American Legion Post 332, and members of the community were present on March 27, 2017, at the flagpole groundbreaking ceremony at City Hall.
