Presence is usually defined as a physical presence, but it is much more than that. True presence is when you are deeply investing in mental support to someone in need, even if it's just through words. Giving your time to support them mentally might sound trivial, but it could be a tremendous blessing to anyone who needs it and could light up their world.
These days, we are provided with access to contact anyone, anytime and anywhere, especially through social media. However, authentic relationships could be hard to come across since most people are caught up with minding their own business. Therefore, the quality of the relationship is often diminished and superficial.
We don’t have to be close to them physically to be present, even just simply asking how their day is going through messages could already tell them that they matter and deserve our attention. Start by caring for others if you have the chance, sometimes people are struggling silently. Be the reason someone smiles because you might be the only sunshine to brighten their lives.
